How I treated Jacob’s Ear Infection at Home

Hello, tender friends!

Even though it’s March, ’tis the season for sickness in preschool. Multiple moms from Jacob’s preschool class have reported unpleasantness caused by norovirus and Flu A. Vomiting 4 times in 15 minutes? Oh, no thank you! And at Sunday School, an ear infection that doctors are calling “really bad” has been going around.

We’ve been extremely fortunate (no vomiting or fever even), but I knew I had to do something when Jacob wanted to go to sleep in my arms at a museum this past weekend.

I told Anthony I wanted to get a picture, but when I picked Jacob up to pose, he started nuzzling my neck and said, “Mommy, I want to snuggle and take a nap.”

I know, I know, that might not sound bad, but Jacob has extreme FOMO. He loves life and everything in it, and if he says he wants to go home it means he’s feeling pretty rotten.

On the ride back to the house he said his ear hurt, so this is the protocol we used Saturday afternoon and yesterday to get him back to normal for today, as I didn’t want to go the antibiotic route as other moms reported they had:

one teaspoon of colloidal silver in the morning and one in the evening on an empty stomach (I can’t explain how much I love colloidal silver and how much money it has saved us in pediatric visits!)

pulsatilla homeopathy (this is highly individualized based on size, but I actually only gave him one dose of 2-30c tablets and he didn’t need any more after that)

This earache relief oil (Please note that none of this is sponsored. I’m just sharing what worked for us so we didn’t have to go in for a pediatric visit in the hopes that other moms can also avoid having to go in)

The earache relief blend contains Mullein flower, coptis root, garlic bulb, and arnica flour in a base of extra virgin olive oil.

I administered this twice.

Thankfully, he has recovered! He actually started to improve by Saturday evening and we were able to go to church as normal.

Of course, the best medicine of all was prayer.

Thank you, Lord, for all the remedies that you have given us and for hearing our prayers.

Okay, that’s all for today, tender friends! Thank you for stopping by today, and may you escape the season of March sickness!

Thank you Edward! I didn’t detail it in the post, but he was kind of off and on for a week, but I didn’t know about the ear infection to treat it until that day. But I’m so grateful for the remedies God has given us!
