Hello, tender friends!
As we finish up last minute Christmas shopping, we’ve had some time for some Christmas family fun!

Every year a local mansion built in 1907 hosts a Christmas tour. This year was the first year that I felt Jacob was old enough for everybody to enjoy it. Unfortunately, it was sleeting the day that we went, so I didn’t get any pictures of the gorgeous columns outside of the Georgian-style architecture. But we still had fun!

Can’t you just imagine yourself walking down that grand staircase in a ball gown? (One of the things I miss most home is I could just buy formal wear for a night out in Manhattan with friends, knowing that we would fit in no matter how dressed up we got. The holidays always make me miss New York, but these will be my Christmas lights for now.)
I took this in one of the bedrooms on the second floor. I call this my GQ picture of Anthony. 😂🤣

As we browsed the rooms, a small chamber orchestra played classical music and staff served refreshments. It was special and made me wish I’d had time to dress up in something other than jeans and a sweater. Maybe next year!
We also saw The Nutcracker. It was magical, and this kid was enraptured the whole time once the curtain went up.

Ok, that’s all for today, tender friends! I’m off to do some cooking for the next two days. I can’t wait to follow along with your Christmas fun!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good afternoon of cooking!
