Hello, tender friends!
This was not the planned post for today, but I’m trying to look on the bright side of things as I nurse my wounds that feel like someone is gouging glass into my skin. Bright side: an unplanned science lesson.
Beneath our carport, I saw some debris to discard beneath shade cloths. I moved the shade cloths to continue decluttering and a swarm of hornets flew out.
“Jacob, run!” I screamed. Thankfully he didn’t question me (as he normally would) and just started running.
I sprayed us both down with the hose as I screamed for him to take off his clothes. I didn’t know how many stings I had, just that portions of my body felt like they were on fire.
Thankfully, Cub is safe with just one sting! I got 13.
BUT… Silver lining!
I gave us homeopathy. I started us off with ledum, which seemed to be strong enough for Jacob’s single sting. After an hour, I still feel like someone was gouging me with glass, so I took a few doses of apis.
I ran out to the store after the first dose of homeopathy and a woman gasped and said, “What happened to you!?” when we we walked in. I said we’d had a run in with hornets and she said, “But what are you going to do?” with a horrified expression.
I was briefly puzzled.
“I took homeopathy and I’m not allergic,” I replied.
“But what are you going to do?” she asked again.
What does she mean? I thought to myself. If you’re patient enough, doesn’t God heal everything?
“I guess I’m going to go back to my house,” I said. I passed a mirror on the way to grab the item I needed. To be fair, I did look like I was in rough shape.
But we’re on the mend now, and with a valuable science lesson learned! I’m glad Jacob now knows to run to water if he’s ever attacked by a swarm. I’m glad he also knows that homeopathy will help his recovery.
I guess the science lesson is worth it.
I’m glad that waiting on the Lord is always worth it.
Okay, tender friends, I’ll be sharing my cabbage steak recipe on Thursday instead of today. Thank you for stopping by, and thank you for sharing!
