Hello, tender friends!
In the spirit of choosing how I show up, I decided to dress up in a nice shirt for a work function even though it wasn’t necessary.

I had almost 3 hours of driving round trip that day, and I was determined to make it a treat for myself. It worked.
Making a longish drive alone nourished me. I turned off the radio and drank the medicinal silence as I hit the road.
I passed towns with poetic names like “Burnt Chimney.” I passed pastures full of grazing cows, a stately farmhouse with thick white columns holding up the porch roof, and tin roofs the color of robin’s eggs.
I passed churches with spires that stretch to the sky, and instinctively I looked upward. Perhaps some hope remains, I reasoned. I bargained with God as I passed silos with vines that crawled all the way to the top.
The job site where I was to do an interview was comprised of rolling golf courses of endless green- and beyond that- an impossibly blue lake. The interviewee served me Don Perrier water and pricey French truffles when I walked in.
The interviewee was darling. Multiple times I thought I love my job. You can love your livelihood.
On the drive home, I read the poetry of town names in reverse. I absorbed all the beauty in reverse.
And I drank the medicinal silence again.
Thank you, Lord, for nourishing me through my livelihood.
Ok, that’s all for today. Thank you for stopping by, tender friends! I’ll be sharing my most recent toastmasters speech and some garden updates next week.
Thank you for sharing!
