Hello, tender friends!
I’ll share the post about God tapping be on the shoulder next week because inspiration struck differently as the weather warmed up!
The weather hit 70° here in Southwest Virginia on Tuesday. My body is rejoicing!
I’ve soaked up my vitamin d the past 3 days as I pushed my Cubby around the neighborhood (He’s obviously old enough to walk, but I still push him because it makes the cardio more intense going up the hills).
One of my neighbors grilled a steak yesterday. In between the intoxicating smell of that and the beauty of the day I wondered, “Does it get any better than this?”
So here it is, my list of things that have been bringing me spring bliss this week:
- Feeling the good kind of tired. Weather that has been warm enough to walk around the neighborhood in a t-shirt and shorts has allowed me to get some sun. I’ve been getting that special sleep that you only get after getting those first rays of spring.
- The tree flowers are in bloom! I have never forgotten seeing the cherry blossom trees in bloom in Washington DC and April when I was a kid. Every time I see dogwoods or cherry blossoms I remember that time. As a child, I naively thought this beauty would always be available to me. As an adult, it’s something I’m willing to chase and seeing the cherry blossoms in Japan is on my bucket list.

3. This kid riding a horse in a t-shirt and shorts.

This kid learning to care for the horse by brushing him and feeding him!

4. Taking our plant starts outside during the day. This means that the time to put them in the ground is getting closer!
5. Longer days. It’s so nice to have some light when driving to church or to meetings in the evening.
Of course, the temperature is supposed to drop tomorrow and over the weekend. Which is fine. But I’ve also got a bit of family worries going on (thankfully nothing with Cubby or Anthony as we are all fine), so I’d appreciate your prayers if the Lord brings us to mind. I’m really focusing on the fact that God is sovereign even when a lot of things are happening that we would prefer not be happening.
Okay, tender friends, I hope it’s warming up where you live also! Thank you for stopping by!
