Hello, tender friends!
We rang in the NEW year with a fun NEW experience!
That’s Cub with my friend’s daughter. Incidentally, he also received his first kiss from her at the tender age of two. Thankfully the romance has since cooled off.
I support romance when they’re older, but I just wasn’t ready for it at age 2!
Anyhow, we had a blast! Matchbox 20 was playing when I walked in, providing a nostalgic college throwback as I laced up our skates
The disco lights reflected on the ice and the cool air rushed at my face, invigorating me as we glided around the rink.
Fancy people with actual skill figure skated as I struggled to stay upright. They were mesmerizing.
I had been on skates only once before, when I was about 5 at the pond next to my house. So my performance was pretty graceless.
But it doesn’t matter. Cheers to novel experiences! It feels so satisfying to guide Cub in developing his own sense of adventure in this way.
