Party Hot Sauce

Hello tender friends!

I didn’t know a hot sauce could taste FUN until Anthony made this. But habanero hot sauce puts me in a party mood!

Also, even though this recipe uses pineapple, and pineapple isn’t typically keto-friendly, you use eat such a small amount at one time that I don’t think the carb count can be too high. And pineapple/apple cider vinegar are paleo!

This is what you do when you have 120 habanero peppers to use up.

Look at that beauty. Can you see all those health-boosting phytonutrients? That beautiful vibrant orange and fruity, citrusy flavor make this a winner.

Yes, habaneros are hot, and we didn’t even remove the seeds and pith. Most of the heat is found in the seeds and pith, but when you’re cooking down 120 peppers, it’s too much work to bother deveining them.

These are the ingredients we used:

120 habanero peppers (This is a monstrous batch, and you could totally just use 1 or 2 if that’s your thing)

1 whole pineapples

1 bulb of garlic

Apple Cider Vinegar- We used 4 cups because it was such a monstrous batch

All we did was put all the ingredients into our blender, blend them up, and heat the mix up over low heat on the stovetop for 15 minutes. Then we strained it out and poured into a mason jar.

Capsaicin, which is what makes hot peppers hot, is a great immune booster. It also burns fat and actually makes you feel warmer if you eat it in the winter months. When Anthony and I first started eating hot peppers, our energy levels were really high. That effect has tapered off as time has worn on because your body gets used to everything, but it was cool to experience it when we started.

If you want to bring beautiful color and sweet and spicy flavor to your next party, habanero hot sauce will do it! We’ve been drizzling it on top of our tacos, cheese slices and even just plain chicken to jazz it up. And if you’re local and want to try it, we have plenty to share!

Thank you, Lord, for the seed-bearing plants you’ve given us!

That’s all for today, tender friends! Thank you for stopping by, and thank you to the new friends receiving updates

I like to keep things positive and have been trying not to worry about AI, but it appears to have infiltrated WordPress. I’ll be sharing a post about that on Monday. See you then!

Oooo! Far too spicy for me! But I’m glad you enjoyed the bounty of your garden with this recipe.

Thank you! I didn’t think the spice was that bad, but I’ve also learned that flavored spice feels milder to me even if it’s actually not. In this case, the fruity flavor seemed to mitigate the spiciness. But I’m still not woman enough to dare to eat a Carolina reaper!

Yum. We had friends who gave us their prolific habanero plant. She told us to harvest them and chop them in a blender with salt and olive oil. She forgot to tell us one important thing. I put them all in our food processor and hit the on button. In no time I had a nice mash. Then, I took the lid off and immediately fell to the ground—I could t breathe. My husband on the other side of the kitchen hollered, “What’s wrong?” Then the cloud of pepper spray hit him and he collapsed as I did. We still laugh about this every time we hear of making hot pepper sauce. Did you have this problem too? Or do you have a secret to share? And I can’t wait to try this, Stacey. Thanks!

So my “secret” is to suffer until you build up tolerance! Even though we had a pretty high tolerance from cooking with hot peppers last year, our tolerance fell over the winter months. The first few times we cooked with hot peppers this year, we all coughed uncontrollably. I felt so bad for little Cub! Fortunately, after a few exposures we all seem to get used to it. None of us coughed when we made the habanero sauce, but I could still smell that it was really hot in the air.
