How WeedING Helps Me Relax and Sleep Well

Hello, tender friends!

Yes, weedING. You don’t need to smoke weed to get that special feeling, just stick your hands in the soil.

Remember what it felt like, as a kid, to be the good kind of tired? Not the depleted caffeine crashrunningaroundonempty feeling of adulthood, but that blissful sleep you used to experience after playing outside with your friends all day in childhood?

We have grounding, or earthing, to thank for that.

Whenever I think I’m done writing about free healing modalities, the Holy Spirit reminds me of something else. In this case, those weeds that are such intensely labor and so time-consuming to remove can actually lessen or reverse disease.

If you are not aware, EMFs stands for electromatic frequencies. Our exposure to EMS is increasing over time and has been steadily since electricity was invented. There’s not really a way to avoid it in the modern world, but you can combat it, for free.

Anthony and I noticed that after working in the garden, especially when spending a concentrated amount of time removing weeds, we felt the good kind of tired and got high- quality, restorative sleep. We have the Earth’s natural conductive field to thank for that. When you stick your hands in the soil, to either plant seeds or pull weeds, you’re connecting with the healing energy of the Earth. If you want to dive more deeply into the science, this is one link you could explore: https://www.barefoothealing.com.au/v/what-is-earthing/22

Another way to connect with this healing energy if gardening isn’t your thing is by walking barefoot. Having direct contact with the Earth is what’s important.

That’s what I did last night – I took off my shoes when we let the chickens out of the coop. The grass was so soothing and cooling on my feet after a long day.

Of course, I always think about God in the garden, including when pulling weeds.

I have days that I think that every word of the Bible is literally true. Some days the Holy Spirit gives me a word from the Bible that applies so directly to what I’m going through (rhema word) that I fall to my knees.

I have other days that I question the scientific veracity of the Bible, but I simply ask God to reveal to me what needs to be revealed. In my twenties I used to spend hours researching the minutiae of the fossil record to try to figure out how it related to the biblical story of creation. I don’t have the time or desire to do that anymore. I’m a lot more dependent now on simply waiting for the Holy Spirit to tell me what I need to know at this particular life stage.

And right now, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Adam and Eve were banished from the garden at the same time that disease and sickness entered the world. Remember when they didn’t know that they were naked? That likely means that they were walking around barefoot the whole time, grounding themselves and connecting to the continuous healing energy that God put in the soil as one of his miraculous gifts to us.

I believe those nebulous longings for something beyond this earthly realm we all feel are because we all remember, at a cellular level, how it felt to walk around Eden. (I firmly believe in cellular memory and had a wild experience with it during pregnancy that drove me to my knees in prayer, but that’s a post for another day).

We can’t go back to Eden, but we have created the closest thing to it that we can in our backyard. It’s our equivalent of the Tabernacle, where we go everyday to meet with God. As our feet crunch the ground and we cross into the hallowed space, we marvel, “He’s here. He’s always here.”

Ok, that’s all for today, friends! Thank you so much to the new friends! To plan your readership, I’ll be releasing a fellow bloggers experience of healing from a covid coma against the odds on Thursday, sharing a series of coping strategies/emotional intelligence reflections for handling illness the following Monday, and sharing a special garden reflection next Thursday as we await our chicken eggs!

They had smooth rocks in a path in a city I lived in, in southern China. When you walked barefoot on them it was like getting a foot massage.

Being a naturopath I firmly believe in what you are saying

It is a nasty place to live.

The pollution is horrible, the people loud and fit perfectly 2 Timothy 3:1-5

I taught there for ten years from the north to the south.

Hong Kong used to be the best city I have ever been to

Wow, really? I thought teachers were well-respected in other countries, unlike in this country.

I’ve read some stuff on the healing properties of the soil being absorbed through the skin as you weed your garden. Maybe that’s what’s helped my mother have the energy she has at her age, and why I don’t have half the energy she had when she was my age, not much gardening experience for me. If I could get a garden at a higher level, its very painful to be on my hands and knees, I might would do much more gardening. My husband has been the gardener in the family, but same for him, the energy and lack of being limber to do it properly comes at a high price.

I hope you feel amazing after you try it. It’s really relaxing even if you don’t feel the detox effect right away!

I just went looked around for skids that were being thrown out and made raised gardens out of them.

      Wow, are they fantastic

Go to construction sites and get free soil and make a compost pile

That is so cool that you found stuff that was going to be thrown out. That’s the best deal ever with the cost of lumber being so high!

Thank you, Mary! With all the political debate about health care costs, I just hope more people try God’s plan. ๐Ÿ’ฏ Free, bought and paid for by Jesus.
