Moving in Unity

Hello, tender friends!

What a blessing it was to rejoice with those who rejoice at a friend’s baby shower this weekend!

The shower was Saturday morning. I hustled Friday to get everything done- I had to pick up a gift, buy cardstock for decorations, and manage some work stuff.

But when I was in bed on Friday night I prayed over the baby shower and got a surprise from the Lord. I didn’t hear anything but just felt or sensed that God wanted me to receive something. I felt confused because participating in a baby shower is about showering the mom, and therefore about giving.

But as I prayed for the Lord to bless the morning, I felt goodwill and benevolence suffuse my spirit from the Lord. I thought once again about what a blessing it is to be able to rejoice with those who rejoice.

But then the Lord also brought this to my attention:

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” – Psalm 133:1

To prep for the party, everyone brought a dish to share and shared responsibilities in making the decorations. (I made the table confetti using my die cut machine- that’s why I picked up the cardstock on Friday). Someone else brought the banner, someone else brought balloons, etc. And it’s so fun to be able to participate in things like this with a community of faith, because time and time again, you see firsthand how the sum of working together is greater than the parts.

I think the angle of the group shot was a little awkward, but that’s ok. It’s still a pleasant memory. (I’m in the blue and white striped dress if you can’t recognize me- my friend didn’t want me to post the one that came out better.)

Of course I’m also thankful that my husband kept our little darling entertained on Saturday morning so I could get out of the house to attend the party!

That’s all for today, tender friends! Thank you for stopping by and thank you for sharing!
