Hello, tender friends!
The fireplace roars to keep us cozy. The Christmas tree lights flood the living room with Christmas cheer. The stockings wait to be stuffed with goodies.

Don’t look too closely at the tree. We let Cub pick out and arrange the lights and decorations. (There are no decorations at the bottom because he promptly pulled them off to pretend they’re cakes).
We’re soaking it all up. Cub wakes up every day asking if it’s Christmas yet with an unfathomably sustained enthusiasm.

We’ve played withโSanta’s reindeer puppets. We’ve sung carols with multiple different Santas.(Cub doesn’t seem to mind that they’re not the same person, ha). We’ve crafted countless Christmas tree ornaments.
We’re tuckered out by the cold weather and short days, but I wouldn’t trade this for anything.

Why do I get all of this? I can’t tell you.
So many times these past years I have wondered why I get all this when not everyone does. I know this time of year isn’t as jolly for everyone, and I am praying for those who I know are struggling now.
I’ll be taking next week off from blogging to do all the things before Christmas decorations come down. Thank you, Lord, for all of this. May you turn this season to be sweet, in the way only you can, for those who are struggling with pain.
I’ll catch you all in the new year.
Thank you for sharing!
